In pursuing my degree at Capella University, in my ambitions, and overall lifes goals I find it necessary and more promising to be able to perform in private practice. (Goal - 1) The change of specialization from General Human Services is not just a mere change coming perhaps from even being an undergraduate with two Bachelor of Arts degrees one in Sociology, the other in Psychology both from The City College of New York, to a more difficult prestigious degree but an effort to be able to contribute to my own race, religion, and culture of people as a Nuwaubian realizing the unique and special needs of my deprived people and Nation. (Goal - 2) It is part of my personal insight to know for a fact that there is not enough representation or people of such a valued professional status among minorities to set up facilities and staff of our own to deal with our special needs, concerns, economics, and psychological well-being, and ethnic community social services employment, and quality of practices for of all of our people as a whole.

(Goal - 3) Further there is so much superstition with some among my Nation that only a fully authorized, educated, and licensed private practice professional can be able to break through and serve respectfully and adequately while being able to provide a more compassionate understanding about. For most among my Nuwaubian Nation the common practice of mental health and human services does not understand or appreciate the point of view that our people hold toward such issues. (Goal - 4) It is therefore vital that a representative member of this Nation be trained to provide the comprehensive and holistic type of approach that will help to remove stigma and allow our people to get the full benefit of assistance that they so vitally need despite disposition, mental capacity, or backgrounds in life. It is for these basic reasons that I feel the need to transfer and change the focus of my degree into the mental health specialization.

The primary purpose for me wanting to go further in graduate school to obtain my M.S. degree in the Mental Health Counseling Specialization, and by three to five years afterwards become a doctor is out of my love and dedication to my Nation of People the Nuwaubians and others. Further I would like to commit myself out of this passion to be able to personally contribute to the upliftment of Black People, other Minorities, and other disadvantaged, impoverished, people in society who have mental or other social problems, causing dilemma’s in their lives. I do personally feel and realize that if I am able to reach the highest point of my own personal peak, that by this I will be in a much better position to do more of a tremendous good towards being able to bring up other people along with me. It is my intention to not only aid people to alleviate their condition of crisis but to as well enrichen the lives and lifestyles of so many others, not only changing their lives socially or mentally, but to also bring as many as I can out of poverty and despair once I am able to achieve my ultimate goals.

I look at the world around me and I see that it is my people who have the least of most anything, while prisons are continuing to be built and education is less valued than layoffs, and crime, along with suicides, homicides, drug addiction, and unwanted pregnancies there needs to be a call to enlightenment and more contribution to social, psychological benevolence for all. I feel that with all the problems in the world that if I am able to do anything to bring about a change for the better personally, then it is my Nuwaubian and God-given duty to try to answer the great call of humanity in especially my own people, no matter what I may have to endure or even how long it may take me. If I should succeed in my personal endeavors I feel that humanity will have one more member perhaps that would be a great champion for the good of peoples cause. If I should by any happen stance fail to achieve my overall goals then at least I would know within my heart of hearts that no matter how difficult it may have been for me I had the cultivation and enhancement of all people in my heart and mind, and then I will know that it was no failure at all but that I must re-group myself and continue to try up until the day I die.

What I intend to do is not just for me and mine, but also because I feel the need for all having had gone through the situations of where in life I hope to be a part of, the utopian of a solution for the many existing problems that affect my life and my peoples lives. It will be no burden to me to bear down hard with inside myself to achieve this agenda keeping these points in mind that it’s not just for me but for all. You see I do believe that one day I will have to look back at my entire life and answer to someone about the rights and wrongs that I have done to help myself and many, then hopefully be proud to reply and see that although it was tough for me I was a true martyr of the greatest righteous cause with my own virtue to see none suffer but to be a God-send to all humanity.

I do realize that there will be those who will say that it is impossible for me, and that I never will succeed but I being me must do all I can to succeed and bring so many others that I will reach along with me. There may come times when I may wonder why or there may come times when I may question is it all worth my while but at these times it would be this heart founded statement that I pray with my faith and devotion to my rationalization driven by God and my inner spirit down deep that would see me through the rougher roads ahead. I am not asking of myself to do anything easy but rather to do something that I know will be totally honored and worth my total efforts and while. If it had been easy I might not want to try because I perhaps instead of achieving this degree in the school towards societal empowerment and capability to proceed with this life journey of mine would already have achieved and there would be no need. It is only due to my recognition that a certain status and level must be acknowledged and must be reached in order for me to proceed and hopefully on the greatest level succeed as I know I must put myself through a personal battle in order to attain my benevolent life’s point.

I take very little inventory to my personal recognition but much more rather to the cause of so many needy others. I feel and know I must somehow find a way to succeed and always continue to try because here in this arena I know that I not only would try with my endeavors but in God’s eyes I think he knows that I have succeeded. These things I must say are my drive, intention, motivation, and total complete purpose in pursuing this and working toward the highest point in graduate school. As the old sayings go nothing beats a failure but to try, try again, and the Chinese often say that the journey of a thousand miles begins with the very first step. I say that the very best ideas are the ones devoted not to the self, but to the richest good in and for others, one idea can lead one to be a great leader, or even just a doctor.
